Dieting & Me : #5 #ChocolateFreeMay

I will happily admit and hold my hands up - I am totally and utterly addicted to chocolate (and sugar in general) and it is my MAJOR downfall when it comes to dieting and sticking to a healthy diet.

I've tried for the last few months to cut back on the devil in brown but as much as I try I just always come crawling back no matter how good the rest of my diet has been!
Having given up meat for 6 weeks recently and finding it a breeze I decided that I needed to give myself a proper challenge.
Something that will take willpower and something that will be tough for me to stick to.
So here it is - Chocolate Free May (#ChocolateFreeMay). I am going to give up chocolate for the month of May.
I will be having nothing chocolate related -not even a bowl of coco-pops!

I can tell you now - this will be hard for me, I haven't even started yet and I am already doubting myself BUT I am determined to complete it and prove to myself (and my boyfriend) that I can control my intake!

I tweeted about this recently and I had lots of you replying saying you'd love to join me (especially after the Easter pig-out) let me know if you want to join in, it will be great to have people to go through this with me!

So tomorrow and for the next 30 days after that .... wish me luck! Hopefully this will help me loose a bit of weight aswell... seeing as chocolate is my major downfall when it comes to that balanced diet, having none of it should help my shift a few unflattering lbs!

  1. I'm doing this too! Even though I have lindt easter egg sitting in my room staring at me, I can always wait until june haha :)

  2. Good luck m'love & I'll be on board with #chocolatefreemay too!

  3. Good for you! I'm determined to loose weight in May too thought I don't think I have the will power to even consider going cold turkey on chocolate.

  4. I think I'm going to join you on this one! Chocolate is my major fall down too need to cut it down big time!

  5. Wow good luck! I have cut down recently and only allow myself chocolate once a week! I dont think I could give it up for a month!! But excited to see how you get on! xxx

  6. I gave up sugary snacks (except for about three chocoloate yoghurts) for Lent and was sooo impressed with myself. Since Lent ended I have been scoffing sweets, cakes and biscuits like there's no tomorrow, so I will definitely be doing this ready for the summer! xx

  7. I'm so in! My addiction to chocolate is getting so out of hand, I have at least something chocolatey every single day, not good! I gave it up for lent once a few years ago so I know it's possible - we can do this!! :)

  8. Oh wow, I wish you well, I think this would send me over the edge x

  9. Good luck! The only way I could give up chocolate is to drink more coffee. I'd need to get a caffeine buzz from somewhere.

  10. As a lover of chocolate, but also someone who needs to loose a fair few pounds this would be a great idea, although Im already doing it! Im quitting sugar, so goodbye chocolate and all the other lovely things that contain sugar!! I've written a blog post all about quitting if you want a read -

Good luck with quitting, Im craving sugar so badly at the moment!

  11. I have to say, I'm a huge chocolate addict myself but I'm also passionate about fitness and health! My trick: sticking to dark chocolate! I know I can't give up entirely the "devil in brown" (lol) so I had to find a healthier replacement. That way, I don't feel deprived nor guilty! xo
